Buying Souvenirs
Emma and her friend Kevin were enjoying sightseeing in Asakusa, Tokyo, when they stepped into the bustling Nakamise Street. The street was lined with food stalls, colorful lanterns, traditional souvenirs, and overflowing with tourists. "This street is really amazing," Emma said with a twinkle in her eye. "It's all so fascinating, but I don't know what to buy." "Indeed." "But I'd like to bring something special back home to my family.” Kevin looked a little distressed. Just then Emma stopped in front of a small store. Look at this! There are so many little beckoning cats. Aren't they cute?” The owner smiled and spoke to her. Welcome,” the owner said, smiling. Manekineko are very popular. The white ones are for good luck and the black ones are to ward off bad luck. Emma asked as she picked up a black beckoning cat. How much is this one? This one is one thousand yen. Kevin looked at the next shelf and said, “I like this fan. It's very Japanese, and I think my mother will like it. The shopkeeper nodded. Yes, it is made of Japanese paper, so it is of good quality. It will be three thousand yen. Emma thought for a moment and decided to buy a black beckoning cat. Then I'll take this one.” Kevin also picked up a fan and said, “I'll buy this one too,” pulling out his wallet. Thank you.” The shopkeeper smiled as he wrapped it up. Have a nice trip.” Emma said with satisfaction as we left the store. We bought some good souvenirs. I'm sure everyone will be happy with them.” Kevin nodded and said, “Yes." "I'm glad I found something uniquely Japanese," he replied.
