Ordering Ice Cream
夏の暑い午後、ケンは町の小さなアイスクリーム屋に入った。カラフルなメニューがカウンターの上に掲げられ、アイスクリームの写真が美味しそうに並んでいる。「いらっしゃいませ！」店員の女性が笑顔で迎える。ケンはメニューを見上げながら少し考えた。「えっと、バニラアイスをください。」「はい、サイズはどうしますか？小さいサイズ、中くらい、大きいサイズがあります。」「中くらいでお願いします。」ケンは答えた。「コーンとカップ、どちらがよろしいですか？」「コーンで。」「かしこまりました。それから、トッピングはいかがですか？チョコレートソースやカラースプレーがありますよ。」ケンは少し迷ったが、首を振った。「いいえ、大丈夫です。そのままでお願いします。」「わかりました。中くらいのバニラアイス、コーンですね。」店員が注文を繰り返す。「はい、それでお願いします。」店員は手際よくアイスクリームを準備し、ケンに渡した。「お待たせしました。300円です。」ケンは財布からお金を取り出し、店員に渡した。「どうもありがとうございます。」「ありがとうございました！またお越しください！」店員は元気に言った。ケンはアイスクリームを受け取り、外のベンチに座ってゆっくり味わい始めた。甘いアイスが暑い日の疲れを癒してくれるようだった。
On a hot summer afternoon, Ken walked into a small ice cream shop in town. A colorful menu was displayed on the counter, and pictures of ice cream looked delicious. "Welcome," said the female clerk, who greeted him with a smile. Ken looked up at the menu and thought for a moment. "I'll have the vanilla ice cream, please." "Yes, what size would you like?" "We have small, medium, and large sizes." "I'll have the medium, please." Ken answered. “Would you like a cone or a cup?" "Cone." "Sure thing." "And what toppings would you like?" "We have chocolate sauce and rainbow sprinkles." Ken hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. "No, thank you." "Just the way it is." "Understood." "A medium vanilla ice cream in a cone." The waiter repeated the order. "Yes, that will be fine." The waiter quickly prepared the ice cream and handed it to Ken. "Thank you for waiting." "It comes to 300 yen." Ken took the money out of his wallet and handed it to the clerk. "Thank you very much." "Thank you very much!" "Please come again," the clerk said cheerfully. Ken took the ice cream, sat down on a bench outside, and began to savor it. The sweet ice cream seemed to relieve the fatigue of the hot day.
