Booking a Hotel Room
ホテルのフロントは明るく、温かい雰囲気に包まれていた。
The front desk of the hotel was bright and warm.
大きなガラスのドアを通り抜けると、佐藤花子は少し緊張しながらカウンターに近づいた。
After passing through the large glass door, Hanako Sato approached the counter a little nervously.
白い制服を着たフロント係がにこやかに迎えてくれる。
A front desk clerk in a white uniform greeted her smilingly.
「いらっしゃいませ。
"Welcome."
ご予約ですか？」
"Do you have a reservation?"
とフロント係が丁寧に尋ねた。
The front desk clerk asked politely.
「はい。
"Yes."
佐藤花子です。
"I'm Hanako Sato."
シングルルームを予約しました」と花子は答えた。
"I reserved a single room,” Hanako replied.
彼女は昨日インターネットで予約を済ませていた。
She had already made the reservation on the Internet yesterday.
フロント係はコンピューターを操作しながらうなずいた。
The front desk clerk nodded as he operated the computer.
「佐藤様ですね。
"You must be Miss Sato, right?"
シングルルームで三泊、正しいですか？」
"Three nights in a single room, is that correct?"
「はい、そうです」と花子は安心して答えた。
"Yes, that's correct,” Hanako replied reassuringly.
「ありがとうございます。
"Thank you very much."
それではチェックインの手続きをいたします。
"Now let's go through the check-in procedures."
こちらにお名前とご住所をご記入ください」と言いながら、フロント係は小さな用紙を渡した。
"Please fill in your name and address here,” the front desk clerk said, handing her a small form.
花子はペンを手に取り、用紙に必要事項を書き込んだ。
Hanako picked up a pen and filled out the form.
その間、フロント係はカードキーを準備している。
Meanwhile, the front desk clerk was preparing a key card.
「お荷物はお預かりいたしますか？」
"Would you like to check in your luggage?"
とフロント係が優しく聞いた。
The front desk clerk asked gently.
「いえ、大丈夫です。
"No, that's okay."
荷物は小さいので、自分で持って行けます」と花子は笑顔で答えた。
"My luggage is small, so I can take it by myself,” Hanako replied with a smile.
フロント係はカードキーを差し出し、「こちらがルームキーです。
The front desk clerk held out her card key and said, “Here is your room key."
お部屋は８階の８１５号室でございます。
"Your room is on the 8th floor, room 815."
エレベーターは右手にございます。
"The elevator is on your right."
朝食は１階のレストランで、７時から１０時までご利用いただけます」と説明した。
"Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the first floor from 7:00 to 10:00."
「ありがとうございます」と花子はお辞儀をして、カードキーを受け取った。
Hanako bowed and accepted the key card.
「どうぞごゆっくりお過ごしくださいませ」とフロント係が見送る中、花子はエレベーターへ向かった。
"Please make yourself at home,” the front desk clerk said, and Hanako headed for the elevator.
旅行の始まりに、少しだけ胸が高鳴るのを感じながら。
She felt her heart beat a little faster as she started her trip.
