Shopping for Clothes
店のドアを開けると、明るい音楽が流れていた。
When she opened the door of the store, cheerful music was playing.
春子は店内を見回して、セールの看板を見つけた。
Haruko looked around the store and spotted a sale sign.
「いらっしゃいませ！」
"Welcome!”
と店員が笑顔で声をかける。
the clerk said with a smile.
「今日は何をお探しですか？」
"What can I help you with today?”
春子は少し緊張しながら答えた。
Haruko answered a little nervously.
「えっと、春用のジャケットを探しています。」
"I'm looking for a spring jacket."
「春用のジャケットですね。
"A spring jacket, yes."
こちらに色々ございます。」
"We have a variety here."
店員は春子を棚の方へ案内した。
The clerk led Haruko to a shelf.
「こちらのコーナーはセール品です。
"This section is on sale."
こちらは新作です。」
"Here are our new items."
春子はセール品を手に取り、値段のタグを見た。
Haruko picked up a sale item and looked at the price tag.
「これ、ちょっと安いですね。
"This is a little cheap,” she said.
でも色がちょっと派手かもしれません。」
"But the colors might be a bit gaudy."
「確かに明るい色ですね。」
"It is indeed a bright color."
店員はうなずきながら別のジャケットを取った。
The clerk nodded and took another jacket.
「こちらはもう少し落ち着いた色ですし、サイズも調整しやすいです。」
"This one is a bit more subdued, and the size is more adjustable.”
春子はそれを手に取り、鏡の前に立った。
Haruko took it and stood in front of the mirror.
「あ、これいい感じですね。
"This one looks great,” she said.
値段も手頃です。」
"The price is reasonable."
「似合っていますよ。」
"It looks good on you."
店員は嬉しそうに言った。
The clerk said happily.
「試着室はあちらです。
"The fitting room is over there."
ご試着なさいますか？」
"Would you like to try it on?"
春子は頷き、ジャケットを持って試着室に入った。
Haruko nodded and entered the fitting room with the jacket.
少しして試着室のカーテンを開けると、店員が笑顔で待っていた。
A few moments later, she opened the curtains of the fitting room and found the clerk waiting for her with a smile on her face.
「いかがですか？」
"How do you like it?"
「ぴったりです！
"It fits perfectly!"
これにします。」
"I'll take this one."
春子は嬉しそうに言った。
Haruko said happily.
「ありがとうございます！
"Thank you very much!"
レジにご案内します。」
"Let me show you to the cash register.”
店員はレジへ向かいながら付け加えた。
The clerk added as she walked to the register.
「お会計の際に、メンバーズカードをお持ちでしたら、さらに10%オフになりますよ。」
"If you have your member's card with you when you pay, you can get an extra 10% off.”
春子は財布を開けてカードを探した。
Haruko opened her wallet and looked for her card.
「あ、持っています！
"I have it!"
それなら助かります。」
"That would be very helpful."
「ありがとうございます。
"Thank you very much."
それでは、お会計は税込みで7,200円になります。」
"Your bill, including tax, will be 7,200 yen."
店員がレジで対応する間、春子は次の買い物のことを考えていた。
While the clerk worked the register, Haruko thought about her next purchase.
袋を受け取り、春子は「ありがとうございました！」
Receiving the bag, Haruko cheerfully said, “Thank you very much!"
と明るく挨拶をして店を出た。
and left the store with a cheerful greeting.
新しいジャケットに春の風がぴったり合いそうだと感じた。
She felt the spring breeze would go perfectly with her new jacket.
