Asking for Help at the Airport
空港のロビーは広く、たくさんの人が行き来している。旅行者の中には困った顔をしている人もいる。その一人、ジョンという外国人が荷物を持ちながらキョロキョロと周りを見渡している。ジョンは近くの空港スタッフを見つけ、声をかけた。「すみません、手伝ってもらえますか？」スタッフの女性が優しい笑顔で振り向いた。「はい、どうされましたか？」ジョンは少し緊張しながら答えた。「えっと、搭乗口がわかりません。ここに書いてありますけど…。」彼はチケットを見せる。そこには「ゲート15」と書かれていた。スタッフはチケットを確認し、少しうなずいた。「ゲート15ですね。今このフロアにいますので、エスカレーターで2階に行ってください。そして右に曲がると案内板が見えます。そこにゲート15があります。」ジョンはホッとした表情になった。「ありがとうございます！エスカレーターはどこですか？」スタッフは近くの方向を指差した。「あちらです。大きな青い看板がありますので、それを目印にしてください。」「助かりました。本当にありがとうございます。」ジョンは深くおじぎをして、教えられた方向に向かって歩き出した。スタッフは笑顔で見送りながら、小さく声をかけた。「良い旅を。」ジョンは振り返り、手を振って「ありがとうございます！」と元気よく答えた。その後、彼は指示通りに進み、無事にゲート15を見つけることができた。
The airport lobby is large and many people come and go. Some of the travelers look troubled. One of them, a foreigner named John, scurried around with his luggage. John found a nearby airport staff member and asked her: “Excuse me, can you help me?” The staff woman turned to him with a kind smile. "Yes, how can I help you?” John answered, a little nervous. "I don't know where my boarding gate is." "It's written right here...” He showed her his ticket. It said “Gate 15." The staff checked the ticket and nodded a little. "Gate 15, right?" You are on this floor now, so please take the escalator to the second floor." "Then turn right and you will see an information board." "There you will find Gate 15.” John looked relieved. "Thank you very much!" "Where is the escalator?” The staff member pointed in a nearby direction. "Over there." "Please look for the large blue sign." "You've been so helpful." "Thank you so much!" John bowed deeply and started walking in the direction he had been given. The staff looked at him with a smile and said softly: “Have a nice trip!” John turned around, waved his hand, and replied cheerfully, “Thank you!" He then followed the directions and successfully found Gate 15.
