The Train Station
Mr. Tanaka came to Tokyo Station for the first time. Surprised by the large building, he was looking at a map near the ticket gate. A young woman approached him and said: “Excuse me, can I help you?” She asked gently. Mr. Tanaka answered a little nervously. "Well, where is the shinkansen terminal?” The woman smiled and answered. "The Shinkansen, right?” "Look at this map." "There is an escalator there." "Go up the escalator and you will find the ticket gate for the Shinkansen." "Thank you very much!" "You've been so helpful," said Mr. Tanaka, bowing deeply. The woman said with a smile. "No, no, please be careful on your way." Mr. Tanaka headed for the escalator as he had been instructed. There were many people, but he was relieved when he found a sign that gave him directions. When he finally arrived at the Shinkansen ticket gate, he took out his ticket and put it into the ticket gate machine. The machine beeped and the gate opened. "Okay, this must be it,” murmured Mr. Tanaka quietly, heading for the platform. He heard the train arriving, and all the people around him began to line up. Mr. Tanaka joined the line and waited for the bullet train doors to open. Impressed by the convenience and precision of Japanese trains, he looked forward to the journey ahead.
