Princess Mononoke
アシタカという若いエミシの戦士が村を襲うタタリ神を倒すところから物語は始まる。
The story begins with a young emishi warrior named Ashitaka defeating the Tatari gods who attack his village.
しかし、その戦いの代償として彼の腕に呪いが刻まれた。
But the cost of that battle is a curse carved into his arm.
呪いは彼の命を徐々に蝕んでいく。
The curse gradually consumes his life.
村を去り、呪いを解く方法を探すために旅立つアシタカは、西の地に向かう。
Ashitaka leaves the village and sets out on a journey to the west to find a way to break the curse.
旅の途中、アシタカは巨大なイノシシの神や、獣神の森を守る狼たちと出会う。
On his journey, Ashitaka encounters a giant boar god and the wolves that guard the forest of the beast god.
その中に、狼に育てられた少女、サンがいた。
Among them is San, a girl raised by wolves.
サンは人間社会を憎み、森と共に生きる道を選んでいる。
San hates human society and has chosen to live with the forest.
アシタカは森と人間の間で対立する彼女の姿に心を動かされる。
Ashitaka is moved by her conflict between the forest and humans.
一方、人間の集落ではエボシ御前が鉄を作るために森を切り開き、森の神々と激しく対立していた。
Meanwhile, in the human village, Eboshi Gozen clears the forest to make iron and is in violent conflict with the forest gods.
彼女は強い意志を持ち、集落の人々を守るために手段を選ばない。
She has a strong will and will stop at nothing to protect the people of the village.
アシタカは森と人間の間で争いを解決し、平和を築く道を模索するが、彼自身もその葛藤に巻き込まれていく。
Ashitaka seeks a way to resolve the conflict and build peace between the forest and humans, but he himself becomes involved in the conflict.
やがて、人間と森の神々の争いはさらに激化する。
Soon, the conflict between the humans and the forest gods becomes even more intense.
巨大なシシ神が命と死を司る存在として現れるが、その力が暴走し、森と人間の世界を崩壊させる危険が迫る。
A giant Deer God appears as the ruler of life and death, but his power goes out of control and threatens to destroy the world of forests and humans.
アシタカとサンは力を合わせて混乱を収めようとするが、彼らの信念が試される瞬間が訪れる。
Ashitaka and San join forces to end the chaos, but a moment arrives that will test their faith.
最終的に、アシタカは呪いを受け入れながらも人間と自然が共存する可能性を信じ続ける。
Ultimately, Ashitaka accepts the curse but continues to believe in the possibility of humans and nature coexisting.
サンは人間と離れ、森での生活を選ぶが、アシタカとの絆は深く残る。
San chooses to leave the humans and live in the forest, but his bond with Ashitaka remains deep.
それぞれが自分の道を歩み始めることで、物語は静かに幕を閉じる。
The story quietly comes to a close as each begins to follow his own path.
