Ordering Ice Cream
夏の暑い午後、ケンは町の小さなアイスクリーム屋に入った。
On a hot summer afternoon, Ken walked into a small ice cream shop in town.
カラフルなメニューがカウンターの上に掲げられ、アイスクリームの写真が美味しそうに並んでいる。
A colorful menu was displayed on the counter, and pictures of ice cream looked delicious.
「いらっしゃいませ！」
"Welcome," said the female clerk, who greeted him with a smile.
店員の女性が笑顔で迎える。
Ken looked up at the menu and thought for a moment.
ケンはメニューを見上げながら少し考えた。
"I'll have the vanilla ice cream, please."
「えっと、バニラアイスをください。」
"Yes, what size would you like?"
「はい、サイズはどうしますか？
"We have small, medium, and large sizes."
小さいサイズ、中くらい、大きいサイズがあります。」
"I'll have the medium, please."
「中くらいでお願いします。」
Ken answered.
ケンは答えた。
"Would you like a cone or a cup?"
「コーンとカップ、どちらがよろしいですか？」
"Cone."
「コーンで。」
"Sure thing."
「かしこまりました。
"And what toppings would you like?"
それから、トッピングはいかがですか？
"We have chocolate sauce and rainbow sprinkles."
チョコレートソースやカラースプレーがありますよ。」
Ken hesitated for a moment, then shook his head.
ケンは少し迷ったが、首を振った。
"No, thank you."
「いいえ、大丈夫です。
"Just the way it is."
そのままでお願いします。」
"Understood."
「わかりました。
"A medium vanilla ice cream in a cone."
中くらいのバニラアイス、コーンですね。」
The waiter repeated the order.
店員が注文を繰り返す。
"Yes, that will be fine."
「はい、それでお願いします。」
The waiter quickly prepared the ice cream and handed it to Ken.
店員は手際よくアイスクリームを準備し、ケンに渡した。
"Thank you for waiting."
「お待たせしました。
"It comes to 300 yen."
300円です。」
Ken took the money out of his wallet and handed it to the clerk.
ケンは財布からお金を取り出し、店員に渡した。
"Thank you very much."
「どうもありがとうございます。」
"Thank you very much!"
「ありがとうございました！
"Please come again," the clerk said cheerfully.
またお越しください！」
Ken took the ice cream, sat down on a bench outside, and began to savor it.
店員は元気に言った。
The sweet ice cream seemed to relieve the fatigue of the hot day.
ケンはアイスクリームを受け取り、外のベンチに座ってゆっくり味わい始めた。
甘いアイスが暑い日の疲れを癒してくれるようだった。
