Wicked, Part II
幕が上がると、エルファバはすでにオズ国中で「邪悪な魔女」として恐れられ、追われる身となっています。
When the curtain rises, Elphaba is already feared and hunted as the Wicked Witch throughout Oz.
一方で、グリンダは「良い魔女」として尊敬される存在になり、オズの魔法使いと協力してエルファバを捕まえようとしています。
On the other hand, Glinda has become a respected good witch and is working with the Wizard of Oz to capture Elphaba.
二人はかつて親友でしたが、今では敵同士のような立場です。
They were once best friends, but now they are enemies.
それぞれの選んだ道が二人を引き裂いているのです。
Their respective paths have torn them apart.
エルファバは愛するフィエロと再会します。
Elphaba is reunited with her beloved Fiyero.
フィエロはグリンダの婚約者でしたが、エルファバの強さと正義感に惹かれ、彼女を選びます。
Fiyero was Glinda's fiancé, but he chooses Elphaba because of her strength and sense of justice.
このことでグリンダは心の奥底で深い悲しみを抱きますが、それを隠し、自分の使命に集中します。
This causes Glinda deep sorrow in her heart, but she hides it and focuses on her mission.
やがてエルファバは、自分の妹ネッサローズを助けようとしますが、計画は失敗し、ネッサローズは亡くなってしまいます。
Eventually, Elphaba tries to save his sister Nessarose, but the plan fails and Nessarose dies.
この出来事はエルファバの心をさらに傷つけ、彼女を孤独にします。
This event further breaks Elphaba's heart and leaves her alone.
ネッサローズの死の責任をエルファバに押し付けられ、彼女の評判はますます悪くなります。
Elphaba is blamed for Nessarose's death, and her reputation is further tarnished.
一方、グリンダとエルファバは対決の時を迎えます。
Meanwhile, Glinda and Elphaba face off.
しかし、二人の間にはまだかつての友情がわずかに残っていることが分かります。
However, it turns out that there is still a small amount of their former friendship between them.
二人は心の底でお互いを大切に思っているのです。
Deep down, they still care about each other.
しかし、世界が彼女たちを分かつのです。
But the world divides them.
最後に、エルファバはフィエロと一緒に逃げるため、自分が「死んだ」と思わせる作戦を立てます。
Finally, in order to escape with Fiyero, Elphaba devises a plan to make people believe she's dead.
これにより彼女は自由を手に入れますが、世間には「悪い魔女が滅びた」という話が広まります。
This gives her her freedom, but the world spreads the story that the Wicked Witch has died.
グリンダは一人、オズの世界を守る役割を果たすことを選びますが、心の中にはエルファバへの複雑な感情が残っています。
Glinda alone chooses to play a role in protecting the world of Oz, but in her heart she still has mixed feelings for Elphaba.
物語はここで終わりますが、エルファバとグリンダが示す友情や選択の物語は、観客に深い余韻を残します。
The story ends here, but the tale of friendship and choice shown by Elphaba and Glinda leaves a deep and lingering impression upon the audience.
それぞれが正義を信じ、それぞれが愛を守ろうとした結果、全く異なる道を歩むことになったのです。
Each believes in justice, and each has taken very different paths as a result of their attempts to protect their love.
