The Zombie
夜の町はとても静かだった。
The town was very quiet at night.
家の電気は消えていて、誰もいない。
The lights in the houses were off and no one was around.
歩道に落ちているゴミや壊れた車が、この町が「普通ではない」と教えている。
Trash on the sidewalks and broken cars told me that this town was not normal.
空には月が見えず、黒い雲が重くかかっていた。
There was no moon in the sky and heavy black clouds.
私は友達のタカシを探していた。
I was looking for my friend Takashi.
昨日、「助けて」と書かれたメッセージが届いた。
Yesterday, I received a message with "help" written on it.
それからタカシは電話にも出ない。
Then Takashi didn't answer his phone.
心配で、彼の家に行くことにした。
Worried, I decided to go to his house.
タカシの家はボロボロのアパートだった。
Takashi's house was a rundown apartment.
ドアをノックしたが、返事はない。
I knocked on the door, but there was no answer.
ドアを押すと、簡単に開いた。
I pushed the door and it opened easily.
中は暗く、嫌なにおいがした。
It was dark inside and smelled bad.
腐った肉のような、気持ち悪いにおいだ。
It smelled disgusting, like rotting meat.
「タカシ？」
"Takashi?"
私は小さな声で呼んだ。
I called quietly.
返事はない。
There was no answer.
でも、何かが聞こえた。
But I heard something.
床の奥から、ぐちゃぐちゃとした音がしていた。
There was a muffled sound coming from deep in the floor.
私はゆっくりと歩き、音の方に近づいた。
I walked slowly toward the sound.
薄暗いライトが少しだけ床を照らしている。
A dim light illuminated the floor slightly.
その光の中で、何かが動いていた。
In the light, something was moving.
それはタカシだった。
It was Takashi.
でも、タカシはおかしかった。
But Takashi was strange.
顔が白く、目が死んでいるようだった。
His face was white and his eyes seemed to be dead.
口の周りには血がついていて、手には何かの肉片を持っていた。
He had blood around his mouth and a piece of meat in his hand.
「タカシ…？」
"Takashi...?"
私の声は震えていた。
My voice was trembling.
彼はゆっくりと顔を上げ、私を見た。
He slowly looked up and saw me.
そして、口を大きく開けて奇妙な声を出した。
Then he opened his mouth wide and let out a strange voice.
「ううう…」タカシは急に立ち上がり、私の方に走ってきた！
Takashi stood up suddenly and ran toward me!
その目は生きた人間のものではなかった。
His eyes were not those of a living person.
私は恐怖で動けなかった。
I was too scared to move.
彼の冷たい手が私の腕をつかんだ。
His cold hands grabbed my arms.
