The Beach
夏の午後、青い空の下、海岸は観光客で賑わっていた。
On a summer afternoon, under a blue sky, the beach was crowded with tourists.
波の音が心地よく響き、潮の香りが風に乗って漂っている。
The sound of the waves echoed pleasantly, and the scent of the sea was wafting in the breeze.
「わあ、海だ！」
"Wow, it's the ocean," Akira exclaimed.
とアキラが叫んだ。
He stepped onto the beach and immediately took off his shoes.
彼は砂浜に足を踏み入れると、すぐに靴を脱ぎ捨てた。
The warmth of the sand spread over his soles, and a big smile appeared on his face.
砂の温かさが足裏に広がり、彼の顔には満面の笑みが浮かんだ。
"It feels really nice."
「本当に気持ちいいね。」
Yui responded.
とユイが応えた。
She held down her hat and looked out toward the ocean.
彼女は帽子を押さえながら、海の方を見つめた。
"Akira, do you want to swim?"
「アキラ、泳ぎたい？
"Or do you want to take a walk?"
それとも散歩する？」
Akira replied as he draped a towel over his shoulders.
「うーん、まずは泳ごうか！」
"But maybe later we can collect shells."
アキラはタオルを肩にかけながら答えた。
Yui nodded and laughed.
「でも、あとで貝殻を集めるのもいいかも。」
Akira smiled and nodded, "Sounds good to me!"
ユイはうなずいて笑った。
"Then let's put our stuff around here."
「いいね！
They put their bags under the shade of a nearby tree and started toward the sea.
じゃあ、私たちの荷物をこの辺に置こう。」
The water was a little cold, but shining in the sun.
二人は近くの木陰に荷物を置き、海に向かって走り出した。
Akira jumped in, splashing in the water and laughing.
水は少し冷たかったが、太陽の光で輝いていた。
"Yui, look!"
アキラは飛び込むと、水しぶきを立てて笑い声を上げた。
"There's a fish," Akira said, pointing into the water.
「ユイ、見て！
Yui approached and peered into the water.
魚がいるよ！」
"It's true," Akira said.
アキラは水の中を指さして言った。
"There are so many small fish."
ユイも近づいて、水の中をのぞき込む。
After playing in the water for a while, they returned to the beach and started walking along the shore.
「本当だ！
Occasionally, Yui would squat down and pick up a beautiful shell.
小さい魚がたくさんいるね。」
"Look at this," Yui said.
海の中でしばらく遊んだ後、二人は砂浜に戻り、波打ち際を歩き始めた。
"It's so beautifully shaped."
時折、ユイはしゃがんで綺麗な貝殻を拾い上げた。
"It really is."
「これ、見て！」
"It looks like treasure."
とユイが言った。
Akira picked it up and looked at it.
「すごく綺麗な形してる。」
Seagulls were flying in the sky and the sun was slowly turning to the west.
「ほんとだ。
The two of them were laughing and talking together, enjoying the summer day at the beach.
宝物みたいだね。」
アキラはそれを手に取って眺めた。
空にはカモメが飛び、太陽はゆっくりと西に傾いていた。
二人は一緒に笑い、話しながら、夏の海の一日を楽しんでいた。
