Black Holes

Black Holes
A black hole is a celestial body with extremely strong gravity, forming a region from which even light cannot escape.
Its origin lies in the compression of the nucleus left behind after a supernova explosion of a massive star by its own gravity.
As a result of this compression, the star's mass is concentrated in a very small space, forming a singularity whose density is nearly infinite.
The boundary of a black hole is called the event horizon, beyond which matter and light can never again exit.
Because of this characteristic, the black hole itself cannot be directly observed, but its presence can be indirectly confirmed by the movement of gas and stars around it or by the X-rays it emits.
Black holes are generally classified into three types.
Stellar-mass black holes have masses several to several dozen times that of the Sun.
Supermassive black holes exist at the centers of galaxies and are millions to billions of times more massive than the Sun.
In addition, intermediate-mass black holes have been discovered, but the process of their formation is still under debate.
The study of black holes is an important field for exploring the limits of physics and cosmology.
In particular, understanding physical phenomena at the singularities and event horizons of black holes is believed to be the key to unifying quantum mechanics and general relativity.
Thus, unraveling the mysteries of black holes will be an important step toward understanding the universe itself.
