The Bakery
朝の光が街に差し込む中、小さなパン屋「ふわふわベーカリー」のドアが開いた。
As the morning light streamed into the city, the door to Fluffy Bakery, a small bakery, opened.
美香は学校の前に立ち寄り、朝ごはんを買おうと思った。
Mika decided to stop by before school and buy some breakfast.
パンの香ばしい匂いが鼻をくすぐり、彼女の目はカウンターに並ぶパンたちに釘付けになった。
The savory smell of bread tickled her nose and her eyes were glued to the breads lined up on the counter.
「いらっしゃいませ。」
"Welcome."
店員の青年が明るい声で迎える。
A young man greeted her in a cheerful voice.
「今日は何をお探しですか？」
"What are you looking for today?"
美香は少し考えながら、カウンターの上を指差した。
Mika thought for a moment and pointed to the top of the counter.
「あのチョコパン、おいしそうですね。
"That chocolate bread looks delicious."
それと、クロワッサンも一つください。」
"And one of those croissants, please."
店員はにっこり笑って、トングを手に取った。
The clerk smiled and picked up a pair of tongs.
「チョコパン一つとクロワッサンですね。
"One chocolate bread and a croissant."
他に何かございますか？」
"Anything else?"
「えっと……あ、あのジャムパンも一つください。」
"Let's see, I'd like a piece of that jam bun, too."
「かしこまりました。」
"Certainly."
店員は手際よくパンを袋に入れると、レジの画面を指差した。
The clerk put the bread into the bag and pointed to the cash register screen.
「全部で三百五十円になります。」
"The total is three hundred and fifty yen."
美香はバッグから財布を取り出し、小銭を数えた。
Mika took her wallet out of her bag and counted the coins.
「えっと、三百五十円……はい、これで。」
"Let's see, three hundred and fifty yen."
「ありがとうございます。」
"Thank you."
店員は丁寧にお釣りを渡した。
The clerk politely handed over the change.
「今日も一日、がんばってくださいね。」
"Have a nice rest of your day."
美香は笑顔でうなずいた。
Mika nodded with a smile.
「ありがとうございます！
"Thank you very much!"
行ってきます。」
"I'm off!"
パンの温かさを感じながら、美香は学校へと急いだ。
Feeling the warmth of the bread, Mika hurried to school.
ふわふわベーカリーでの短い時間が、彼女の朝を少しだけ明るくしてくれた。
Her short time at Fluffy Bakery made her morning a little brighter.
