Booking a Hotel Room
ホテルのフロントは明るく、温かい雰囲気に包まれていた。
The front desk of the hotel was bright and warm.
大きなガラスのドアを通り抜けると、佐藤花子は少し緊張しながらカウンターに近づいた。
After passing through the large glass door, Hanako Sato approached the counter a little nervously.
白い制服を着たフロント係がにこやかに迎えてくれる。
A front desk clerk in a white uniform greeted her smilingly.
「いらっしゃいませ。
"Welcome."
ご予約ですか？」
"Do you have a reservation?" The front desk clerk asked politely.
とフロント係が丁寧に尋ねた。
"Yes."
「はい。
"I'm Hanako Sato."
佐藤花子です。
"I reserved a single room," Hanako replied.
シングルルームを予約しました」と花子は答えた。
She had already made the reservation on the Internet yesterday.
彼女は昨日インターネットで予約を済ませていた。
The front desk clerk nodded as he operated the computer.
フロント係はコンピューターを操作しながらうなずいた。
"You must be Miss Sato, right?"
「佐藤様ですね。
"Three nights in a single room, is that correct?"
シングルルームで三泊、正しいですか？」
"Yes, that's correct," Hanako replied reassuringly.
「はい、そうです」と花子は安心して答えた。
"Thank you very much."
「ありがとうございます。
"Now let's go through the check-in procedures."
それではチェックインの手続きをいたします。
"Please fill in your name and address here," the front desk clerk said, handing her a small form.
こちらにお名前とご住所をご記入ください」と言いながら、フロント係は小さな用紙を渡した。
Hanako picked up a pen and filled out the form.
花子はペンを手に取り、用紙に必要事項を書き込んだ。
Meanwhile, the front desk clerk was preparing a key card.
その間、フロント係はカードキーを準備している。
"Would you like to check in your luggage?" The front desk clerk asked gently.
「お荷物はお預かりいたしますか？」
"No, that's okay."
とフロント係が優しく聞いた。
"My luggage is small, so I can take it by myself," Hanako replied with a smile.
「いえ、大丈夫です。
The front desk clerk held out her card key and said, "Here is your room key."
荷物は小さいので、自分で持って行けます」と花子は笑顔で答えた。
"Your room is on the 8th floor, room 815."
フロント係はカードキーを差し出し、「こちらがルームキーです。
"The elevator is on your right."
お部屋は８階の８１５号室でございます。
"Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the first floor from 7:00 to 10:00."
エレベーターは右手にございます。
Hanako bowed and accepted the key card.
朝食は１階のレストランで、７時から１０時までご利用いただけます」と説明した。
"Please make yourself at home," the front desk clerk said, and Hanako headed for the elevator.
「ありがとうございます」と花子はお辞儀をして、カードキーを受け取った。
She felt her heart beat a little faster as she started her trip.
「どうぞごゆっくりお過ごしくださいませ」とフロント係が見送る中、花子はエレベーターへ向かった。
旅行の始まりに、少しだけ胸が高鳴るのを感じながら。
