Seven Samurai
七人の侍は、貧しい村人たちが山賊から守るために侍を雇う物語です。
Seven Samurai is the story of a group of poor villagers who hire samurai to protect them from bandits.
ある日、山賊が村を襲う計画を立てていることを耳にした村人たちは、この危機にどう対処すべきか悩みます。
One day, the villagers hear that bandits are planning to attack their village, and they wonder how to deal with this crisis.
武器もなく、自分たちだけでは戦えないと知った村人たちは、侍を雇うことを決心します。
Realizing that they have no weapons and cannot fight the bandits on their own, they decide to hire a samurai.
しかし、村にはお金がなく、報酬として提供できるのはわずかな米だけです。
However, the village has no money and can offer only a little rice as a reward.
村の代表者たちは町に行き、勇敢で親切な侍を探します。
The village representatives go to town in search of a brave and kind samurai.
何人もの侍に断られる中、一人の経験豊富な侍、勘兵衛に出会います。
After being rejected by a number of samurai, they meet one experienced samurai, Kanbei.
彼は最初は迷いますが、村人たちの真剣さに心を動かされ、協力することを決意します。
He is initially hesitant, but is moved by the seriousness of the villagers and decides to cooperate.
さらに、彼は仲間の侍を集め、最終的に七人の侍が村を守るために集結します。
He also gathers his fellow samurai, and eventually seven samurai gather to defend the village.
侍たちは村に到着すると、すぐに防御の準備を始めます。
When the samurai arrive at the village, they immediately begin preparations for defense.
村の地形を利用し、堀を掘り、バリケードを築きます。
They take advantage of the village terrain, dig moats, and build barricades.
また、村人たちに戦う方法を教え、一緒に力を合わせるよう促します。
They also teach the villagers how to fight and encourage them to join forces.
当初は恐れていた村人たちも、少しずつ侍たちを信頼し、協力するようになります。
The villagers, initially fearful, gradually come to trust and cooperate with the samurai.
やがて山賊が襲撃を開始します。
Soon, bandits begin to attack.
侍と村人たちは力を合わせて戦い、何度も攻撃を撃退します。
The samurai and the villagers join forces to fight and repel the attackers again and again.
激しい戦闘が続く中で、侍たちや村人の中には命を落とす者もいます。
As the fierce fighting continues, some of the samurai and villagers lose their lives.
しかし、最後には残りの侍と村人たちの努力によって山賊は敗れ、村は平和を取り戻します。
In the end, however, through the efforts of the remaining samurai and villagers, the bandits are defeated and peace is restored to the village.
戦いが終わった後、村には平穏が戻り、村人たちは再び田畑を耕し始めます。
After the battle, peace returns to the village and the villagers begin to work the fields again.
しかし、侍たちは自分たちが戦争の道具に過ぎないと悟り、静かに村を去ります。
However, the samurai realize that they have become nothing more than instruments of war and quietly leave the village.
