The Lost Wallet

The Lost Wallet
On the station platform, Mr. Tanaka's face was clouded as he searched his pockets.
He looked around and seemed a little panicked.
"Hey, my wallet's gone," he mumbled softly.
Yamada-san, who was standing next to him, noticed this and approached Tanaka-san.
"What's wrong?"
I think I might have dropped my wallet on the way to the station.
It should have been there when I left home."
Mr. Tanaka sighed.
"That's tough."
"Where did you last see it?" Mr. Yamada asked anxiously.
I think I had it with me until I bought a drink at a convenience store, but I don't know where I dropped it after that.
But after that, I have no idea where I dropped it.
Mr. Tanaka held his head.
After thinking for a moment, Mr. Yamada said, "Why don't you ask the station attendant?
Maybe someone will deliver it to you," he suggested.
I guess that's the only way to find out."
Mr. Tanaka seemed to regain some of his strength.
Then we both headed for the station clerk's office.
When we explained the situation at the station clerk's office, the station clerk responded smilingly, "Please wait a moment.
Please wait a moment.
I will check to see if it has arrived as a forgotten item.
A few minutes later, the station attendant returned with a brown wallet.
Is this it?"
Mr. Tanaka took it in surprise and checked inside.
Here it is!
Thank you!"
I'm so happy for you!"
Mr. Tanaka smiled with a relieved look on his face.
Thank you so much for your help," he said.
Thank you, Mr. Yamada and the station staff.
Mr. Tanaka bowed deeply.
His expression had regained its brightness.
