歯医者で
At the Dentist
田中さんは歯が痛くなり、近くの歯医者に行くことにしました。
Mr. Tanaka has a toothache and decides to go to a nearby dentist.
歯医者のドアを開けると、受付に女性が座っています。
When he opens the dentist's door, he sees a woman sitting at the reception desk.
「こんにちは。
She says, "Hello."
予約はしていますか？」
"Do you have an appointment?" The receptionist asked with a smile.
受付の女性が笑顔で聞きました。
"No, I do not."
「いいえ、していません。
"But my tooth hurts a lot."
でも、歯がとても痛いんです。」
Mr. Tanaka replied anxiously.
田中さんは心配そうに答えました。
I understand.
「わかりました。
Please wait a moment.
少しお待ちください。
I'll ask the doctor.
先生に聞いてみますね。」
A few minutes later, the receptionist returned.
数分後、受付の女性が戻ってきました。
"The doctor will see you soon."
「先生がすぐ見てくれます。
"Please come this way."
どうぞ、こちらへ。」
Mr. Tanaka enters the examination room.
田中さんは診察室に入ります。
Inside, the dentist is standing there in a white coat.
中では歯医者の先生が白いコートを着て立っています。
He says, "Good afternoon."
「こんにちは。
"Which tooth hurts?" The doctor asked gently.
どの歯が痛いですか？」
"It's the tooth in the back on the right."
先生が優しく聞きました。
"It's been hurting since yesterday, and it's hard for me to eat."
「奥の右の歯です。
Mr. Tanaka said while holding his cheek.
昨日から痛くて、食べるのも大変です。」
The doctor looked at Mr. Tanaka's mouth and said: "It's a cavity."
田中さんは頬を押さえながら言いました。
"It needs some treatment."
先生は田中さんの口を見ながら言いました。
"Are you okay with that?"
「虫歯ですね。
"Yes, please."
少し治療が必要です。
"But won't it hurt?" Mr. Tanaka asked a little anxiously.
大丈夫ですか？」
"It's all right."
「はい、お願いします。
"I'll use painkillers, so please don't worry."
でも、痛くないですか？」
When the treatment was over, the doctor smiled and said: "I think this will make the pain go away."
田中さんは少し不安そうに聞きました。
"Please try not to eat too much hard food today."
「大丈夫ですよ。
"I understand."
痛み止めを使いますから、安心してください。」
"Thank you very much."
治療が終わると、先生は笑顔で言いました。
Mr. Tanaka bowed and left the examination room.
「これで痛みはなくなると思います。
After leaving the dentist's office, Mr. Tanaka looked relieved.
今日はあまり硬いものを食べないようにしてくださいね。」
"I'll come back earlier next time."
「わかりました。
With this thought in mind, he went home.
ありがとうございました。」
田中さんはお辞儀をして診察室を出ました。
歯医者を出ると、田中さんはほっとした表情を浮かべました。
「次は早めに来よう。」
そう思いながら、家に帰りました。
