The Airport Check-In
お客さんは空港のチェックインカウンターに向かいました。
A customer went to the check-in counter at the airport.
カウンターにはスタッフが立っていて、にこやかに挨拶しました。
A staff member was standing at the counter and greeted her smilingly.
「いらっしゃいませ。
"Hi there."
本日どちらまでですか？」
"Where are you flying to today?"
「東京まで行きます。」
"I'm going to Tokyo."
お客さんはスーツケースをカウンターの前に置きながら答えました。
The customer put her suitcase in front of the counter while answering.
「かしこまりました。
"Sure thing."
パスポートとチケットをお預かりできますか？」
"May I take your passport and ticket?"
「はい、どうぞ。」
"Yes, please."
お客さんはバッグからパスポートとeチケットの画面を見せました。
The customer took her passport out of her bag and showed her e-ticket on the screen.
スタッフはパソコンで情報を確認し始めました。
The staff began to check the information on the computer.
「田中様ですね。
"Ms. Tanaka, I see."
荷物はお一つでよろしいですか？」
"Do you have only one piece of luggage?"
「はい、これだけです。
"Yes, this is all I have."
手荷物もありますが、これは持ち込みます。」
"I also have some hand luggage, which I will bring onboard."
お客さんは肩にかけたバッグを軽く持ち上げて見せました。
The customer lightly lifted the bag on her shoulder and showed it.
「ありがとうございます。
"Thank you very much."
それでは、スーツケースをこちらのベルトに置いてください。
"Now, please place your suitcase on this belt."
重量を確認します。」
"I will check the weight."
お客さんはスーツケースをベルトに乗せました。
The customer put her suitcase on the belt.
スタッフは画面を見ながら言いました。
The staff looked at the screen and said: "It weighs exactly 20 kilograms."
「20キロちょうどですね。
"No problem."
問題ありません。
"Here is your boarding pass."
では、こちらが搭乗券です。
"Gate 23, boarding starts at 10:30."
ゲートは23番、搭乗開始は10時30分です。」
"I understand."
「分かりました。
"Thank you very much."
ありがとうございます。
"Where is the security checkpoint?"
保安検査場はどこですか？」
"Turn left at this counter and go straight to the right."
「このカウンターを左に曲がって、まっすぐ進むと右側にあります。
"You will see it on the information board." The passenger nodded and then asked a question: "I'm sorry, I just have one question, is there a café in this airport?"
案内板にも書いてありますのでご確認ください。」
"Yes, there are several in the departure lobby after passing through the security checkpoint."
お客さんは頷いてから質問しました。
"I especially recommend the café near gate 23."
「すみません、一つ聞きたいのですが、この空港にカフェはありますか？」
"They have good coffee and sandwiches."
「はい、保安検査場を通過した後、出発ロビーに数カ所ありますよ。
"I understand."
特に23番ゲートの近くにあるカフェはおすすめです。
"Thank you for the information."
コーヒーやサンドイッチが美味しいです。」
The customer replied with a smile.
「分かりました。
The staff smiled back.
教えていただきありがとうございます。」
"Have a nice trip."
お客さんは微笑んで答えました。
The customer headed toward the security checkpoint with her suitcase in tow.
スタッフも笑顔で返しました。
「良いご旅行を。」
お客さんはスーツケースを引きながら保安検査場の方へ向かいました。
