Introducing Myself
こんにちは。
Hello.
私はジョンと申します。
My name is John.
アメリカ出身ですが、今は日本に住んでいます。
I am from the United States, but now I live in Japan.
今年で日本に来てから三年になります。
This year will be three years since I came to Japan.
仕事は英語の先生をしていますが、日本語も日々勉強しています。
My job is teaching English, but I am also learning Japanese everyday.
最近は敬語をもっと使えるようになりたいと思い、努力しています。
Recently, I am trying to learn to use keigo (honorific language) better.
趣味は料理と読書です。
My hobbies are cooking and reading.
特に日本料理を作るのが好きで、最近はお好み焼きや寿司を家で作ってみました。
I especially like to cook Japanese food, and recently I made okonomiyaki and sushi at home.
本を読むのも好きで、村上春樹の小説を少しずつ読んでいます。
I also like to read books, and I am gradually reading novels by Haruki Murakami.
最初は難しかったですが、辞書を使いながら読むことでだんだん理解できるようになりました。
It was difficult at first, but I gradually came to understand it by reading with a dictionary.
休日には友達と一緒に観光地を回ったり、地元のお祭りに行ったりします。
On my days off, I visit tourist attractions with my friends and go to local festivals.
日本の文化や歴史に興味があり、寺や神社を訪れることが多いです。
I am interested in Japanese culture and history, and often visit temples and shrines.
特に京都と奈良の雰囲気が好きで、何度も訪れています。
I especially like the atmosphere of Kyoto and Nara, which I have visited many times.
将来はもっと日本語が上手になって、日本人の友達と深い話ができるようになりたいと思っています。
In the future, I would like to become more fluent in Japanese so that I can have in-depth conversations with my Japanese friends.
それから、もっと日本各地を旅行して、地元の料理や文化を体験したいです。
I would also like to travel around Japan more and experience the local cuisine and culture.
