The Hidden Treasure
これは、僕の町のお話です。
This is the story of my town.
僕の町は小さいです。
My town is small.
でも、古い神社があります。
But there is an old shrine.
その神社に、伝説があります。
There is a legend about the shrine.
昔々、神社の木の下に宝物がありました。
Once upon a time, there was a treasure under a tree in the shrine.
宝物は金です。
The treasure was gold.
たくさんの金です。
A lot of gold.
しかし、誰も宝物を見つけませんでした。
But no one found the treasure.
「本当に宝物がありますか？」
"Is there really treasure?"
町の人は言います。
The townspeople said.
でも、ある日、僕は神社に行きました。
But one day I went to the shrine.
そして、大きな木を見ました。
And I saw a big tree.
「もしかして、この木の下に宝物がありますか？」
"Could it be that there is a treasure under this tree?"
僕は思いました。
I thought.
僕はシャベルを持って、木の下を掘りました。
I took a shovel and dug under the tree.
でも、何もありません。
But there was nothing.
もっと掘りました。
I dug some more.
すると、何か固いものがありました。
Then I found something solid.
「宝物ですか？」
"Is it treasure?"
僕はわくわくしました。
I was excited.
しかし、掘ると、宝物ではありませんでした。
But when I dug, it was not a treasure.
古い石でした。
It was an old stone.
でも、その石には不思議な文字がありました。
But there was a strange writing on it.
「これは何ですか？」
"What is this?"
僕は分かりません。
I don't know.
でも、その石を町の博物館に持って行きました。
But I took the stone to the museum in the town.
今、町の人はみんなその石を見に行きます。
Now everyone in town goes to see the stone.
「本当の宝物は、町の歴史です。」
The real treasure is the history of the town.
僕は思いました。
I thought to myself.
